Who doesn’t love flowers? They’re little bursts of sunshine that make us smile. If you’re like me, you’re anxiously awaiting warmer weather and the vibrant colours of blossoming tulips, my favourite spring flower. Perhaps you’re also waiting for our overnight frosts to fully disappear so you can plant your summer flowers. It’s been a colder-than-normal spring in Regina, and it’s taking a heck of a long time for the tulips in my yard to do their thing.
My impatience might be my own doing. A few weeks ago, I took a client to the Regina Floral Conservatory to enjoy “Happy Springtime,” showcasing a breathtaking display of gorgeous spring blooms. We had a lovely time enjoying the array of colour and brilliance. It certainly got me in the mood for warm, sunny days.
The Regina Floral Conservatory recently changed out its floral display to “Summer Blossoms.” Time for another delightful visit. Why not take your elderly loved one for a tour? Admission is free (donations welcome), there is seating to rest and enjoy the view, and the Conservatory is open daily from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. from September to June.
I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Regina Floral Conservatory. It’s where Kelly and I got married in 1997, and I’m so glad it’s still around to enjoy. The Conservatory is maintained and operated by volunteers with the Regina Garden Associates, a non-profit organization. Bless their hearts. 🙂
